At the end of April, the females from Unio crassus started to release the larvae.
The larvae are collected, counted and then placed in a tank with a host fish (minnows). After the larvae have attached to the gills of the host fish (after about 30-45 min), the host fish are placed in the mussel seed winning installation. Here, the young mussels can be collected after a few weeks.
